The tuk-tuk
The way most of our guests see the old city — Gulzar’s own. Open sides, stops anywhere, squeezes down the bazaar lanes a car cannot.
A tuk-tuk, a few cabs and driver-guides who know which gate to be at, at what hour — Amer before the coaches, Hawa Mahal while the sun is still on the honeycomb, Nahargarh for the sunset. Rated 5.0 on Google by 134 guests in 13 languages.
Most guests do one of each: Gulzar’s auto through the bazaars and up to Amer, then an air-conditioned car for the hill forts, the airport and the day trips to Agra, Pushkar or Ranthambore.

The way most of our guests see the old city — Gulzar’s own. Open sides, stops anywhere, squeezes down the bazaar lanes a car cannot.

Air-conditioned and quiet. Dzire and Etios for couples, Innova Crysta for families, Tempo Travellers for groups of nine to sixteen — the same fixed-price habit, to Agra, Ajmer–Pushkar, Ranthambore or the airport at four in the morning.
Choose the stops, tell us how many of you there are, and the planner sorts the day by the light and gives you an indicative vehicle price and what the gates will charge. Send it to WhatsApp and Gulzar confirms the figure — it does not change on the road.
The hill forts and Chokhi Dhani are a cab run — switched to a car.
Indicative. Vehicle prices are for the vehicle, not per person; gate prices follow the January 2026 Rajasthan revision. Gulzar confirms the figure before you get in.
Every stop at the hour the light wants it — with the gate price, how long it takes and what we do while you are inside. Nobody does all fifteen in one day; the planner above makes yours.
Blue hour. The station forecourt is quiet; the prepaid booths are not open yet. We are.
Gulzar: Tell us the train number. Gulzar meets you at the platform exit with your name, not a commission plan.
The criss-cross steps throw their cleanest diagonals in the first hour; by ten the light is flat and the steps are full.
Gulzar: We do this before Amer, not after — the fort’s opening queue forms at the same time the kund is empty.

Gates open at eight. Soft east light on the ramparts over Maota Lake, and ninety minutes before the coach parties climb the ramp.
Gulzar: Walk up the ramp (20 minutes) or take a jeep from the base; we wait at the lower car park, not at a shop. Elephant rides run 07:30–12:30 at a government-fixed rate.

A photo stop on the way back from Amer; the morning reflection on Man Sagar Lake is still. (Sunset is the other good hour.)
Gulzar: Camel owners and photographers work this pavement. Say no once, politely; we are parked thirty metres on.
The honeycomb faces east: the sun is on all 953 windows until about eleven. Photograph it from the street first, then go inside for the view back out.
Gulzar: The rooftop cafés opposite sell the famous photo with a coffee; the entrance is round the back, on the City Palace side.

Near solar noon the 27-metre Samrat Yantra’s shadow is shortest and you can watch it move — about a millimetre every second.
Gulzar: Take the official guide here (₹200–300) — it is the one monument that makes no sense without one.

Midday is fine here: the courtyards are shaded and the Peacock Gate is painted, not lit.
Gulzar: Next door to Jantar Mantar — we walk you between the two and bring the tuk-tuk round to the Tripolia side.
The bazaars are at their hottest and emptiest; the thali places are not.
Gulzar: Dal-baati, pyaaz kachori, a lassi in a clay cup. We take you where we eat; nobody pays us to bring you.
Mid-afternoon the pigeons own the lawn in front of it; after seven the sandstone is lit in colour and there is a separate night ticket.
Gulzar: Ask for the Egyptian mummy and the Persian carpet; skip it entirely if museums are not your thing and we go to Galta instead.
Climb it in the last hour it is open: the rooftops of the pink grid go gold and the whole 1727 plan reads from the top.
Gulzar: On the business-card Day I list for a reason: it is the view of the city nobody else takes you to.
Sunset. The whole plain of Jaipur turns amber under you and the Aravalli ridge goes black behind the sun.
Gulzar: Cabs climb the fort road; a tuk-tuk can too, slowly — we tell you which before you book. Padao, the open-air restaurant on the wall, does a drink at sunset.

The white marble is floodlit from dusk; the seven o’clock aarti is the one to be inside for.
Gulzar: Shoes off, shoulders covered, phones away during aarti. We hold your bags.
After dark the painted arches are lit from inside and the one-point corridor photo needs no crowd control.
Gulzar: Ten minutes from the airport road, so it pairs with a late flight or a Chokhi Dhani evening.
Lantern light, folk dance, camel and bullock-cart rides and a dinner served on leaf plates. Arrive by six-thirty to see the village before the dinner rush.
Gulzar: We wait. The drive back is 40 minutes and the bottom-nav WhatsApp button works from the car park.

The city is asleep; the phone is not.
Gulzar: Late trains, 5 am flights, the overnight bus to Delhi — we have done all three this month. Message the time; we are there.
City toursThe day on the back of Gulzar’s card: the six stops inside and just outside the old walls — Albert Hall, Isarlat, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Royal Gaitor and Galta — in the order the light wants them.
City toursThe second card list: Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, the Elephant Village and Panna Meena ka Kund — an early start so Amer is yours before the coaches climb the ramp.
City toursJaigarh, Nahargarh and Sunset Point — the three places on the ridge above the city, finished with the sun going down behind the Aravallis from the fort wall.
City toursThe two card lists back to back, with the Chokhi Dhani village evening between them and the hill forts on the second afternoon.
Day trips from JaipurJaipur to the Taj Mahal and back in a day by the expressway — 240 km each way, 3½ to 4 hours — with Fatehpur Sikri and the Buland Darwaza on the road. The Taj is closed on Fridays.
Day trips from JaipurThe Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, then the holy lake and the Brahma temple at Pushkar, 15 km over the hill — 135 km from Jaipur by the highway.
CircuitsDelhi, Agra and Jaipur in three days with one driver — the route guests from Germany did with Gulzar over four days in 2024 and wrote about. Start in either city.
Every line below is lifted from a Google review. 134 of them, 133 five-star, none below four — in thirteen languages, from guests who found Gulzar on the street, in a hotel lobby, or through a friend in Varanasi.
We are not paid to take you anywhere. The emporiums on the Amer road pay drivers to stop; we drive past them. If you want to shop, we take you where locals buy.
Reliable, not working for commissions and gives good recommendations.J., Netherlands · 2023
Trains reach Jaipur at odd hours and flights leave before dawn. The number on this page is answered around the clock and the pickup happens.
Julia, Brazil · 2023
The phrase guests use more than any other. Gulzar has lent bus fare to a stranded traveller, taught Hindi words in the tuk-tuk and taken guests home for henna.
He went out of his way to bring us around the city day after day, for hours. We felt so safe with him.Aimie · 2022
Fixed prices agreed before you get in. We tell you the real ticket price at each gate, where the official guides stand, and which “closed today” is a lie.
Nico, Italy · 2022
A day tour is a sequence of hours. The pickups in our reviews are described as early, exact and unhurried — the only way to be at Amer before the coaches.
Whenever we called him, he arrived exactly on time without delay.Kishore · 2025
See the old city in the open tuk-tuk and take a car to Agra the next day. Same phone, same people, same transparent bill.
We booked 2 Innovas and the experience was great. There was no billing issue. Transparency was there.Sumit · July 2026

We booked 2 Innovas and the experience was great. The drivers were easy going. There was no billing issue. Transparency was there. The cars albeit old were in well maintained and clean condition. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a rental car.
It was great traveling with Gulzar in Jaipur!! Greetings from Canada
We had the most wonderful experience. Raoul is literally the most amazing man let alone the best driver I have come to meet. He took us to beautiful places and sights in Jaipur all the while being so kind and helpful. He even woke up early one morning to get up to the train at 5am. I will definitely see him again when I go back to India. Your trip will be 100% better if you spend it with him.
Jaipur was our first city in India, and upon arrival we were a bit disoriented: there was a lot to do in one day. Ruhal was very helpful. It's not just about the tour, but also about reliable help in an unfamiliar city and unfamiliar circumstances.
Jaipur City Tour & Travel I would like to sincerely thank Gulzar Bhatti, the owner of Jaipur City Tour & Travel. He provided us with excellent service for 3 days in Jaipur in his beautiful rickshaw. From early morning pickups to perfectly planned routes, he ensured not a single minute was wasted. He knows every lane of Jaipur, all the best vendors of any items or place, tourist spots, and the finest places to eat, both vegetarian and non-veg. Whenever we called him, he arrived exactly on time without delay.
Dear Gulzar, It was a great coincidence crossing paths with you this Wednesday when struggling to book my transportation from Jaipur to Delhi, your help is priceless!! Beyond the tuc tuc service is the fact that you gave me your support trying to find bus options, sharing your own internet data, taking me back to my accommodation and then to the pick up point for the bus, on top of that, sharing a nice place to enjoy local food and the your company of course.
It's a fantastic place, the service was excellent, and the company was great fun. If I return to Jaipur, I'll definitely stay there again. The host was a really nice person who took us to all the places we asked for, always with a pleasant smile.
Our driver for the three days in Jaipur was Raúl. He's an incredibly kind and good person, so much so that when we didn't have any change upon arrival, he offered us his own money without any obligation. Thank you for everything, Raúl.
If you go to Jaipur for a visit, contact Gulzar Bhai. Gulzar Bhai is an honest and good man and everything is arranged well in Jaipur. I tell my friends if you go to Jaipur for a visit, contact Gulzar Bhai. Thank you.
Four friends and I came from Mallorca and spent an afternoon visiting factories with high-quality products. Raul is very friendly and a true professional. We'll definitely repeat this experience on future trips.
We traveled around Jaipur in Gulzar Bhai's auto. He was a very good man, he took care of us like his own relatives. He took care of us in good times and bad.
Very helpful person. Treats everyone like family. Must choose for travel and guidance in Jaipur. They also provide cabs around the state also.

The tuk-tuk is his. Named in more than sixty reviews — for early pickups, restaurant tips, and once for sharing his own phone data to find a stranded guest a bus to Delhi.
“Knows in and out of Jaipur” — guests from Kerala and Maharashtra in 2023 wrote about his fairness on price and his patience in the bazaar.
Raúl to the Spanish-speaking guests who travel with him for three days at a time — one group had no change on arrival and he covered it himself.
Brilliant English, a short Amer afternoon run, and a guest who wrote that he explained his culture and traditions along the way.
Indicative: ₹999 for the tuk-tuk (up to three guests), ₹1,199 for an air-conditioned sedan, ₹1,800 for an Innova — for the day, not per person, about eight hours and the whole city circuit. Monument tickets, the official guides at the gates and meals are yours. We confirm the exact figure on WhatsApp before you get in, and it does not change.
No — you buy them at each counter, so you see the real price. The Rajasthan composite ticket (₹550 Indian / ₹1,700 foreign, valid two days) covers Amer, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh, Albert Hall, Sisodia Rani ka Bagh and Isarlat. City Palace is separate. We tell you at the first gate which one to buy.
Tuk-tuk for the old city: it stops anywhere, takes the bazaar lanes and is the Jaipur most guests remember. Cab for the hill forts, the airport, and any day trip — Agra, Ajmer–Pushkar, Ranthambore. Many guests do one of each.
Yes. We are open 24 hours; station and airport pickups happen at whatever hour your train or flight arrives. Send the train number or flight and the name on the booking.
Our drivers know the city, the hours and the stories, and guests describe them as guides. At Jantar Mantar and Amer we recommend the licensed guides at the gate as well — they are worth their ₹200–300.
Only if you ask, and only where we would buy ourselves. We do not stop at commission emporiums. Block printing in Sanganer, blue pottery, gemstones in Johari Bazaar — we tell you the fair price before you walk in.
Cash, UPI or bank transfer at the end of the day. No advance for city tours; day trips and multi-day circuits take a small deposit against the cab booking.
Hindi and English in the car. Our guest book has reviews in thirteen languages — Spanish and French-speaking travellers in particular have managed very well with us, and Gulzar will teach you the Hindi you need.
Send the train number or the flight, the number of guests and what you want to see. You get the day back as an hour-by-hour plan with a fixed price — before you get in.
